It's the thought that counts.

The gift of feeling well again - priceless

I'm living proof that the power post natal wellness and nutrition gives a new mum is genuinely one of the best gifts you could ever give someone.

My first birth was text book. I gave birth with a midwife watching my every contraction and guiding me through my pushes which resulted in me pretty much jumping back into fitness less than 6 months later. I had gained a lot of weight during my pregnancy so joined a gym, got a trainer and completed my dream of completing a 10k 1 year later - brilliant. Then everything changed...

Jump forward 3 years on - my second baby was a water birth and sadly got delivered before I was fully dilated. My body was left utterly broken. My baby was safe but I was left in tatters physically and mentally. It was a real shock how broken I really was. Everything felt different and even carrying my baby around on my hip felt a physical struggle, which wasn't how I was expecting to feel at all.

My recovery took over 2.5 years to complete and during this time, I found myself constantly looking back at what I went through with the first and how straight forward my recovery was back then. I always took my fitness for granted and now hadn't any fitness to speak of (it's funny how you miss something when it's taken away from you). I wanted to get my physical strength back and to start feeling more like my old self and genuinely, it was down to one woman who helped make this happen.

Kate Smart is a Postnatal Exercise and Wellness trainer. Having trained with the hugely inspiring Burrell Education and the Guild of Postnatal Exercise Instructors, she has specialised in postnatal wellness for over a decade offering 1:1 coaching, specialised courses in Pelvic Floor and Core recovery (Holistic Core Restore® for which she is a Master Trainer), Diastasis Recti healing and running her local Buggyfit franchise.

Now, let me explain a little more about who Kate Smart is. Kate is like a great buddy of yours. A mum of 2 herself, she knows all too well what it feels like delivering children and more importantly, living with a post natal body. She's genuinely empathetic, calm but enthusiastic without being in your face, she's funny but also hugely knowlegeable about all things to do with living with a post natal body. Her approach gives you such confidence and the best bit, her courses really do work and the reason I know is I've successfully completed her online course and the difference it has made to my life is honestly, out of this world.

I had a space in between my tummy muscles of around 3 fingers; now it's less than 1, meaning my tummy is stronger to pick up my kids and work out generally, but it's what Kate has done for my internal muscles that I'm so evangelical about. Her 3 week online postnatal package covering nutrition and self care alongside safe and effective exercise (suitable for most mums from 6 weeks postnatal) has changed my body entirely - my pelvic floor is stronger allowing me to do anything I want without any worry, I'm back to my prenatal self and I can't tell you how INCREDIBLE it feels. I've learnt how to adapt my exercise so it's safe for me to do so and I honestly feel I've got my strength back. I'm also running again but only up to 6k but I'll take it! I'm part of her online community where she shares tips, advice as well as nutrition advice to encourage muscle repair along with recipes so we can do a bit of healthy cooking for ourslves. This is the reason why I wholeheartidly offer Kate's online course as part of Taylor'd Bundles as sending someone a gift that encompasses everything you need to know when it comes to post natal wellness, is what Kate Smart offers in all she does. Spend more time on yourself post natally, be more Kate.

Back in 2011 when my gorgeous little girl Florence arrived into the world, my husband and I received some incredibly thoughtful gifts. It wasn’t until I started enquiring about where the gifts had come from, that I discovered our creative friends had made them themselves. To discover our friends had poured their love and talent into these thoughtful gifts, made them feel even more special. I felt so touched, it was this feeling that I wanted to bottle and share with others.

Thanks to my hugely supportive husband and family, some very late nights and various trips up and down the country, I have been able to collate a wonderful array of hand-picked products that make up our truly bespoke gift sets.
